The Ancestry User Group scheduled for this Sunday, December 11th has been cancelled. The next meeting will be Sunday, January 8 , 2017 @ 1:30 p.m.
The library will be open from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm for you to do research. In case of bad weather call 515 276-0287 to make sure the day isn’t cancelled.

An afternoon session for the DNA SIG has been added for those who can not attend at night. It will be on the 1st Tuesday at 1:30 – 3:30 pm in the IGS Conference Room.

Judy McClain, IGS Librarian, has compiled a wonderful history of the first 50 years of IGS. The book is available in PDF format or in four separate files as it is quite long. Click here to view this very special tribute to our first 50 years.
Once again Webster County Genealogical Society has added to their Ft Dodge Messenger Index series with the year 1925. It contains 181 pages and sells for $29.00. It may also be ordered by mail or phone from IGS. It includes adoption, birth, anniversaries, death, family events, guardianship, homestead, illness, land records, marriages, naturalizations, divorce, military, and many other categories that are coded for easy finding.
IGS has received a donation to add Ancestry Library Edition for patron use. It is now available on the patron computers.
